Son exercice photographique de style documentaire se veut r\u00e9solument \u00e0 hauteur d\u2019homme et sensible \u00e0 l\u2019ordinaire. S\u2019inscrivant dans une intimit\u00e9 territoriale forte \u00e9vitant le pittoresque, il convoque dans son travail la m\u00e9moire de l\u2019usage des lieux. Il privil\u00e9gie les longues marches \u00e0 pied sur le littoral et photographie, en partie immerg\u00e9, dans la zone situ\u00e9e entre les limites extr\u00eames des plus hautes et des plus basses mar\u00e9es appel\u00e9 \u00ab estran \u00bb. Le choix d\u2019une \u00e9criture au long cours le conduit \u00e0 s\u2019exprimer sous la forme d\u2019expositions et de publications.<\/p>\n<p>Il est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 d\u2019un Master de sciences humaines en 2002. Attentif \u00e0 la question de la repr\u00e9sentation d\u00e9mocratique en Europe et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord, il vit en Allemagne, Italie et Turquie puis part aux Etats-Unis en 2008 pour suivre toute la campagne pr\u00e9sidentielle de Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>En 2010, le traumatisme du passage de la temp\u00eate Xynthia sur les c\u00f4tes charentaises marque un point de bascule dans sa pratique de photographe et l\u2019oriente vers les th\u00e9matiques littorales. Docteur en histoire, il est sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019\u0153uvre du photographe et \u00e9diteur de cartes postales des Charentes Fernand Braun (1852-1948). A la faveur de l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie mondiale de COVID_19, il explore de nouveaux rapports \u00e0 la plage et \u00e0 l\u2019espace littoral. Depuis les ann\u00e9es 2020, il collabore comme artiste \u00e0 des programmes de recherche et de valorisation scientifiques li\u00e9es aux recompositions des rivages atlantiques dans le contexte de la d\u00e9rive climatique globale.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Benjamin Caillaud articulates his work around two axes: landscapes and coastal resources. His documentary-style photographic exercise is resolutely at the height of a man and sensitive to the ordinary. As part of a strong territorial intimacy avoiding the picturesque, he summons in his work the memory of the use of places. He favors long walks on the coast and photographs, partly submerged, in the area between the extreme limits of the highest and lowest tides called \u00ab\u00a0estran\u00a0\u00bb. The choice of a long-term writing leads him to express himself in the form of exhibitions and publications.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>He graduated with a master\u2019s degree in human sciences in 2002. Attentive to the question of democratic representation in Europe and North America, he stayed in Germany, Italy and Turkey then left for the United States in 2008 to follow the entire Barack Obama presidential campaign.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">In 2010, the trauma of the passage of the storm Xynthia on the southwest Atlantic coast of France marks a tipping point in his practice as a photographer and directs him towards coastal themes. Doctor in history, he is a specialist in the work of the photographer and publisher of postcards from the \u201cBelle Epoque\u201d Fernand Braun (1852-1948). Thanks to the global COVID_19 epidemic, it explores new relationships with the beach and the coastal area.
